Paper Proxies

If you’ve been around in the world of miniature wargaming, you’ve probably heard the term “proxy” before. It refers to the idea of using something (another miniature, an object, etc.) to mimic a real miniature. This practice is usually frown upon by game makers and hobby stores because, to speak plainly, it prevents us from making a living.

That being said, we really want to allow as many people as possible to try out the game. Proxies allow you to have a taste of the game before committing to a full purchase, or lets you play the game right away while you build and paint your army at your own pace.

If you have other miniatures you’d like to use, feel free to do so. For whatever else you don’t have, click on the links below, save the image (make sure you use the full resolution) and print them out on matte photo paper or cardstock. Then, simply cut and fold them, and stabilize the base with a small piece of tape.

Please keep in mind proxies are intended to be temporary and used solely in the privacy of your home. It’s considered bad form to bring proxies to a store, and is strictly forbidden in tournament play.

Paper Board

If you don’t have access to a wargaming table at home, or would like to spice it up by using terrain features, feel free to download the images below to make your own board. Once again, use matte photo paper or cardstock to have a solid base, then apply tape to the bases.
